Information on data processing for visitors to our website
With the following information, the Vision Aid Suisse Foundation (hereinafter “Vision Aid Suisse”) provides you with an overview of the processing of your personal data in accordance with the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) of 19 June 1992 (Status as of 1 March 2019) when visiting our website and using our services.
We also explain the choices you have regarding the processing of your personal data (“your rights”) and how you can contact us.

If the data processing is based on consent, your consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future. The easiest way to exercise the rights of the data subjects is to contact the contact options listed under point I.
III Service and IT security
When you visit our websites, we store certain information about the browser and operating system you use, the date and time of the visit, the access status (e.g. whether you were able to call up a web page or received an error message), the use of web page functions, the search terms you may have entered, the frequency with which you call up individual web pages, the name of files called up, the amount of data transferred, the web page from which you accessed our web pages and the web page you visit from our web pages, whether by clicking on links on our web pages or entering a domain directly in the input field of the same tab (or the same window) of your browser in which you opened our web pages. We also store your IP address and the name of your internet service provider for a period of seven days for security reasons, in particular to prevent and detect attacks on our websites or attempts at fraud.
We process the aforementioned personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing you with information on our services on our websites and in ensuring IT security for you when you visit our websites.
All online forms of Vision Aid Suisse are accessed via a secure SSL connection and your data is transmitted via Let’s Encrypt this. You can recognise this transmission by a closed lock in the status bar of your internet browser. Your data is encrypted on the way from your computer to us and can only be read again on our server. A security certificate from Let’s Encrypt confirms the authenticity. Furthermore, the tool “Antispam Bee” is used. Antispam Bee blocks spam comments and trackbacks effectively, without captchas and without sending personal data to third-party services.
We must point out that, due to the structure of the Internet, unauthorised access to data by third parties may occur. It is therefore also your responsibility to protect your data against misuse by encryption or in any other way. Without appropriate protective measures, unencrypted data in particular, even if transmitted by e-mail, can be read by third parties.
IV. Contact requests and service
If you have any questions about Vision Aid Suisse, our projects or campaigns, you can contact us by e-mail, letter, fax, telephone or using the contact form available on the website. We will process your personal data depending on the subject of your enquiry. If necessary, we may also use personal data that has been stored in our systems as part of other data processing (e.g. data on previous enquiries).
Depending on the request, the data is processed for the purpose of initiating, implementing or, if applicable, executing a contract with you on the basis of Art. 13 para. 2 lit. a) FADP and/or on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering your request on the basis of Art. 13 para. 1 FADP.
The data will be deleted when your request/inquiry has been processed and there are no other storage obligations.
V. Consent management system by Usercentrics (cookies and external content)
When you access our web pages, a banner of the consent management system of Usercentrics appears, which informs you about the use of technically mandatory cookies, cookies requiring consent also from third party providers as well as the display of contents of external web pages on our web pages requiring consent.
By clicking the consent button, you consent to the use of cookies and the display of content from external websites on our websites and your data is processed on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 2 lit. b) FADP. You can give your consent as a whole or only for individual services. The processing of your data in connection with technically mandatory cookies is carried out on the basis of Art. 13 para. 1 FADP. These services may also transfer the collected data to another country outside Switzerland to countries that do not offer an adequate level of data protection.
You can revoke your consent in full or only with regard to individual services at any time. You can revoke your consent at any time by clicking on the button on the website, which will take you back to the consent management system.
You can also revoke your consent at any time and generally prevent cookies from being set by changing your browser settings and deactivating the setting of cookies there. In your browser settings, you can also choose whether you want to be informed when a website uses cookies. Please refer to the instructions or help function of the browser you are using to find out how to change your browser settings in detail.
If you wish to withdraw your consent in relation to third-party cookies, please contact the provider of the relevant cookie. For further information, please refer to the data protection declarations or cookie policies of the respective provider.
